Sunday School - Our Classes

Nursery: Babies and toddlers under three. The children and two friendly adults play on the floor with toys and each other in the small baby-safe room off of the Library. Our child care providers are background checked, trained adults, usually from among our Dartmouth undergraduate neighbors.

Preschool: Ages three through five. Our Preschoolers meet in the sunny storytelling section of the Library. They will have traditional lessons from children's literature and from UU curricula We Believe and I'm Like You, You're Like Me.

Primary and Elementary children (ages six through ten) will have a choice on most Sunday mornings:

Galloping Green Gazelles: Whole-body, kinesthetic lessons are planned to learn about our topics. Children will be hiking, dancing, and doing social justice projects. We'll use ideas from Deep Fun, the New Games Book, and Values Clarifications.

Mellow Maroon Mountains: Peaceful, thoughtful activities including Children's Choir and Spirit Play - a Montessori based storytelling method, encouraging children to do personal spiritual work in an age-appropriate manner.

Junior Youth: Ages eleven through fourteen. Worship, Action, Fun, Learning, and Leadership Opportunities. The Junior Youth provide the Children's Chapel once a month, visit area houses of worship, and pursue lessons in the UU traditions of science, justice, and transcendentalism.
