Adult Religious Education Offering: “Explorations into God” January 12-Feburary 16

“Affairs are now soul size,” writes Christopher Fry in A Sleep of Prisoners. “The enterprise is exploration into God.” What does it mean to speak of “god” in the twenty-first century? Can Unitarian Universalists use theological language in a way that is critical, meaningful, liberating, and transformative? Using a variety of resources, including recent books by Karen Armstrong and our own George Brooks, plus video clips from the outstanding “UU University” program on “Theology in a Secular Age,” presented at last year’s General Assembly, we will explore a diversity of theological viewpoints, and engage in our own constructive conversation. All are welcome to be a part of this conversation, which will take place over five sessions, beginning on January 12th and concluding on February 16th, with no meeting on January 26th. The class will meet from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Meeting House on Route 5. Please talk to Rev. Bruce if you are interested, or if you have questions
