UUCUV Issues Forum:
Death Always Sits on Your Left Shoulder
Sunday, May 2nd 12:00–2:00pm
This image from Carlos Castaneda's writings will be our starting point for discussion today.
What personal experiences and beliefs do we bring to our understanding of the transitory nature of our lives?
And how does our sense of mortality influence our sense of self, our daily lives, our relationships, our big decisions?
Paul Engle writes: "Live glows in our exuberance of tears. We turn more human in our mortal fright."
Does mortality frighten us or not? What could it mean to "turn more human?"
Other questions and ideas are sure to arise from our discussion. Bob Russell will facilitate. All are welcome!
Tea and snacks provided; if you want, bring a sandwich.
