UUCUV NewsNews from the Call, September 2004Yoga Class Offered in September“Yoga for the Rest of Us” is a 40 to 60 minute, step-by-step workout designed to “ease you into the world of yoga” And it is exactly that - an “easing in”. Motivation to participate definitely comes from establishing a set time with other folks. So, on Mondays at 4 p.m., the Meeting room becomes a yoga room. Think of this as a beginner’s level yoga. Or think of it as a yoga for seniors. Or, don’t think of it at all - come, participate and discover for yourself! Call the office for more information. Congregational Retreat UpdateLook in the October Call for news about our first ever all- Congregational Retreat held at the Blessingwood Retreat center near Corinth, Vt at the end of August. Feeding the HungryThe next time those of us from the UUCUV will prepare dinner for less fortunate members of our larger community will be on October 4th at the Methodist Church on Gates Street in White River Junction. Volunteers begin arriving around 3 p.m. and are finished by 6:30. We will host again on December 6. Call the office for more information. “Dethistleization”News in Brief: Last June, fifty flying fingers (including thumbs) wrenched approximately 1500 Canada Thistles from the Meeting House property, thereby, on the day after Flower Sunday, depriving these creatures of their flowerhood. We remain hopeful that our armneedled efforts will further restrict the alien “thistleization” of our land. Next spring the tale will be told. Fun, Fellowship and RelaxationAfter a summer hiatus, the knitting group is back! If you are looking for a new hobby, a reason to pull that project out of the closet, or an excuse to start a new one, please come and join us. All levels of knitters are welcome, including those with just the desire to learn. Our first meeting will be on Thursday, September 23rd, from 7-9 p.m. Call the office for more information. Ways And Means, September 2004WOW, we really outdid ourselves at the 6 Church Rummage Sale. There were UU’s everywhere, and it was noticed! Our share of that sale is close to $2,000. Thanks to all who helped start the 2004/2005 Ways and Means with a bang. You couldn’t be there? Don’t worry, there are many more ways to join in this Fall. What Other Ways (WOW’s) are we going to raise the Means we need?
