Sunday School Nursery
Welcome to the Nursery!
We are so happy to care for your Little Ones this morning - Child care is available from 9:50 to 11:20 in the small, baby-safe room off of the library. Children from six weeks old through two years will play on the floor with our kind child care providers. We typically schedule two providers each Sunday; if extra babies come to Sunday School, we will recruit additional adult care providers from the congregation.
Babies - our Nursery is a place to reinforce the basic messages of the first year of life: "You are always safe, you are always loved, Mamma and Daddy will return." These developmentally appropriate learnings are not only cognitive achievements, but the foundations of a healthy faith.
Toddlers - we'll share songs and games. These children typically engage in parallel play. We provide toys to stimulate exploration and to necessitate sharing - the next lessons of faith development.
For safety and comfort:
- Parents may always choose to stay with their babies as long as they wish
- The Nursery is constantly observed through its glass door. The Preschool teacher is on alert to help out in emergencies!
- Babies should arrive at the Nursery with a clean diaper; child care providers will not change diapers, but will call parents for special situations.
- Parents, please mark on the map where you will be in case care providers need to find you.
Who is caring for our children? Each of our child care providers comes well recommended, experienced, and with a background check. Dartmouth students are paid for their services and are often available privately for baby sitting. We heartily thank Nursery Volunteers from among our friends in the congregation.
